Murtha busted:
General briefed Murtha after murder comment, Corps says
According to a Reuters news report, "The head of the U.S. Marine Corps
briefed Rep. John Murtha on the Haditha case after the vocal war critic
publicly said Marines had killed innocent civilians in that Iraqi city, the
Corps said on Thursday."
At issue: statements made by Rep. John Murtha during a May 17, 2006 press
conference. During the conference Murtha stated the Marines unit fighting in
Haditha "killed innocent civilians in cold blood." Murtha went on to say his
statements were based on Pentagon sources.
Since then, Murtha has identified Gen. Michael Hagee as his source, claiming
Hagee gave him the information on which he based his charge that Marines
killed innocent civilians. [

A claim Hagee says is false.
According to a Reuters news article [
LINK]:
... a spokesman for the Marine Corps said Hagee briefed Murtha on May 24
about Haditha. Murtha had made comments on the case as early as May 17.
Congressman Murtha made his damning statement a full seven days prior to
Hagee's briefing. And that means big trouble for Murtha. Due to a defamation
lawsuit filed last Wednesday on behalf of one of the Marines (Staff Sgt.
Frank Wuterich), attorneys will now have the opportunity to question Murtha
under oath about his source.
With Hagee's office now openly challenging the truth of Murtha's claims, it
appears the Congressman is in even deeper legal trouble.

Novak: "Murtha's misstep on Haditha"
Murtha wrongly claims Marine was 'charged'
National pundit Bob Novak carries the following comments in a recent column:
"Rep. John Murtha, responding Wednesday to a defamation lawsuit filed by
a Marine accused of killing Iraqi civilians in 2005, mistakenly said Staff
Sgt. Frank Wuterich had been "charged in the incident at Haditha." In fact,
no charges have been filed against anybody."
Murtha quickly issued a new press release Wednesday deleting "charged"
and describing Wuterich as leader of "the squad accused of killing two dozen
civilians."
Clearly, Rep. John Murtha is bent on condemning these Marines prior to any
completed investigation or trial, fueling further outcry from American's
military veterans. As a former Marine, Murtha is labeled a "Semper
I" and "EX-Marine"
– scathing rebukes from the Corps.
As Vets For The Truth/Boot Murtha takes the lead in exposing Murtha for who
and what he is, veterans across the country make plans to attend the
Anti-Murtha Rally scheduled for this Oct. 1 in Murtha's hometown of
Johnstown, PA.
Organized by local veterans in Murtha's congressional District 12, the rally
will give vets of the Iraq War – and all wars – the opportunity to speak
out. An opportunity Murtha himself denies them.
For months Iraq War veteran Craig Minnick, a resident of Murtha's hometown,
has tried to contact his Congressman to express his views about the Iraq War
and concerns about Murtha's statements. All efforts have been denied.
Minnick has now become involved with helping to organize the Oct. 1 rally.
Now campaigning for the position of Majority Leader, Murtha has joined ranks
with liberal congressmen such as Sen. John Kerry, also infamous for damning
his fellow soldiers. Both have risen to political power by flaunting their
military service. Both claim they are above scrutiny due to having 'served.'
Both refuse to release their full military records.
Additionally, Murtha has accepted an award
from the liberal anti-war organization Code Pink. Members of Code Pink
raised over $600,000 for the insurgency in Iraq. Their
members regularly demonstrate in front of Bethesda Hospital where injured
American soldiers receive treatment. Code Pink has been placed on a par with
'Hanoi' Jane Fonda for harassing wounded soldiers and their visiting
families members and supporting America's enemies.
These, and many other issues about Congressman Murtha, will be the focus of
the Oct. 1 Anti-Murtha Rally in Johnstown, PA.
Redeploy Rep. John Murtha!
Boot Murtha is a campaign organized by Vets For The Truth to redeploy John

All - It appears as though our "Hero of the Hill," Murtha has been caught in
the type of mistake which has become so common to "Our Heroes of Capitol
Hill." It's called lying. It also appears that his
reelection may not be the certainty once thought to be the case.
